Shift Worker CalendarPrivacy policy
Effective 8 October 2026. Shift Worker Calendar (com.shiftworkers.calendar) is provided by NK Tools. Contact: anithabheesetty@gmail.com.
Your schedule
Shift definitions, rotations, date overrides, notes, work-hour logs, alarm rules and preferences are stored in a Room database in the app's private storage on your phone. NK Tools does not operate a server that receives this calendar data. No account is required. Android automatic cloud backup is disabled for this app.
Backups and sharing
When you export a backup, an unencrypted JSON file containing your schedule, notes, hours, alarm rules and preferences is written to the location you select. Keep it private. Restoring a backup replaces your local app data. Calendar images and PDFs include shift names and times, but omit notes and work-hour logs. Sharing sends the selected file to the app and recipients you choose; their privacy policies apply.
Calendar permission
If you choose calendar sync, the app reads the available writable calendars on your device and copies shift names and times for the selected range into the calendar you choose. Local event mappings allow it to update or remove its own events when you sync again. It does not upload private notes or hours. A Google or other cloud calendar provider may sync these events under your account settings, and people with access to that calendar may see them. Sync is optional and initiated by you. Revoking calendar permission stops further access; events already copied remain in that calendar until removed there.
Alarms and notifications
Notification and exact-alarm access are requested to deliver your chosen shift alarms. A foreground media-playback service plays an alarm sound for up to three minutes and shows a dismiss control. Boot, time and timezone changes reschedule saved rules. The app does not collect microphone audio or your precise location.
Advertising and consent
The app uses Google Mobile Ads and Google's User Messaging Platform. Depending on consent and configuration, these SDKs collect and share IP addresses (which may infer approximate location), device or other identifiers including advertising IDs, app interactions and diagnostic/performance information for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. SDK data is transmitted using encryption in transit. This collection is separate from your local roster data. The app does not send shift names, notes or hours as advertising targeting parameters.
Where required, a consent form is shown before advertising requests. Ad privacy choices are available in Settings when Google indicates they are required. You can also manage advertising privacy in Android settings. The core calendar remains usable offline. Optional rewarded ads require an explicit choice; a reward is granted after the SDK confirms completion.

Retention and deletion
Local data stays until replaced through restore or removed through Android's app storage controls or uninstall. Keep a backup before deleting app data. Exported files and copied calendar events persist outside the app and must be deleted from their selected locations. NK Tools has no server-side copy of your roster to delete and does not provide a way to individually delete data held by Google's advertising systems; use Google's privacy controls for that data. Support emails remain in our email system as needed to resolve the request; contact us to request deletion of your support correspondence.
Audience and updates
This scheduling tool is intended for adult shift workers and their families and is not directed at children. Material policy changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date. For questions, contact NK Tools at the email above.
